WE DAY 2018
On Wednesday 7th March WE Group visited London to attend the WE Day Celebrations at Wembley Arena.
We Day UK celebrates the actions taken by young people in tackling local and global issues. Holy Trinity's We Group have led campaigns on: Saving Energy, Reducing Waste, Litter Picking, Send My Friend to School and Walk for Water.
The event was packed with inspirational stories and people, inspiring the children and reminding them that they can make a difference.
We had a fantastic Breakfast with Santa hosted by the Friends of the School! We got to have our photo taken with Mr Claus and enjoy a wonderful breakfast in the hall! We decorated reindeer decorations and listened to Christmas music! What a wonderful start to the Christmas season!
Holy Trinity's Got Talent!
We had a wonderful Talent Show on Monday night raising money for our School Council Charities, Send my Friend to School and the WE Project. We have some very talented children at Holy Trinity!
Star Visit by Colin Jackson!
Year 6 were invited to an Athletics Coaching afternoon with Colin Jackson at Barnes Wallis Academy! We had a wonderful afternoon, and the children won the athletics competition! We had some coaching in sprinting from Colin and lots of photo opportunities!
Thorpe Camp Visit
Oak and Willow had a really interesting visit from Thorpe Camp with lots of historical items from WWI and WWII. We got to send an SOS message on an original WWI Morse code machine with lights as well as on a machine that sent sound. We were allowed to handle all kinds of items including: gas masks, baby gas outfits, helmets (including one from the Vulcan bomber) and hand grenades. We found out that the RAF dropped tiny pieces of tin foil to interfere with radar and that the Vulcan had to have a shell to help ignite the engine. A massive thank you Thorpe Camp for taking the time to come to talk to us.
World Book Day 2016
This year our theme was Roald Dahl. The children looked amazing in their costumes and had a great day taking part in various activities.
