To say thank you for all our hard work we had an ice cream party and designed our own toppings. It is a sad goodbye to our Year Six representatives and we wish them all the best in their new schools where we hope they will stand again to represent their peers and continue to give pupils a voice.
We continue to support the campaign to send every child in the world to school. This year's campaign focussed on children with disabilities who are unable to access schools. Children from all classes contributed to making this paper chain which was sent with an accompanying letter to our local MP. Let's hope we can make a difference!
Congratulations to the whole School Council who have worked very hard to achieve the Bronze Award. As well as collating a huge folder of evidence, we had to carry out a whole school council meeting in front of the inspectors and answer some very tricky questions too. We are very proud of our achievements and are looking forward to going for the Silver Award in the future. A big thank you to Mrs Simons and Mrs Bates who took two of our members to receive the award, which was then presented to the council during a celebration assembly.
On the 6th of March we had a World Book Day fair. We sold many different kinds of books and we also sold some fruit smoothies that the school council members had made. We managed to raise £85.50 for our greenhouse in our new garden area. Thank you!
School Council Members now have a new role of Playground Buddies to make the school lunch times more interesting and fun. They set up games to play and let anybody take part.
