We are delighted to be supporting Children in Need this year and have planned a range of fun activities for the children to enjoy whilst raising money for this fantastic cause! Children in Need Day will take place on Friday 13th November and we would love everyone to get involved! Colouring Competition Children will receive a Children in Need colouring sheet to take home. They can colour, paint, collage or print on their design and return it to school by Wednesday 11th November. Our School Council will judge the entries and there will be prizes for the winners! Guess Pudsey's Name! Pudsey will be making a special appearance on the playground on Children in Need Day. Children can have a go at guessing Pudsey's name, with a prize awarded to the winner with the correct (or closest) answer. Non-Uniform Day Children are invited to come to school in non-uniform. We simply ask that everyone includes a splash of yellow in their outfit. This could be a logo, socks, hair accessory, T-shirt or any other yellow item. Run Pudsey! We are also excited to be taking part in Run Pudsey, a sponsored event to raise money for Children in Need. Our challenge is to collectively complete 100 laps of the school field! Every child and member of staff will run or walk one lap of the field, which will help us achieve our goal of over 100 laps together. Friends of the School Needs You! Our wonderful FOS group is urgently looking for new volunteers to help support fundraising and events for our children. A huge thank you to Mrs Wylie, who is stepping down after more than 10 years of dedicated service, including many years as Chair. We are incredibly grateful for everything she has done for our school community. Despite the weather preventing us from making our usual walk to church, our Harvest Festival was a wonderful celebration held together in school. It was lovely to welcome so many parents and carers, whose support helped make the occasion so special. Each class shared their learning about harvest through songs, poems and reflections, with Maple Class delighting everyone with their traditional rendition of Big Red Combine Harvester! Our Collective Worship Council confidently led prayers and invited us all into moments of thoughtful reflection and gratitude. A huge thank you to everyone who generously donated food. All donations will be distributed to local families in need through the Lions, helping us extend the spirit of harvest beyond our school community. The service beautifully reflected our school value inspired by St Julian of Norwich: "All shall be well." 🦷 Maple Class Smile Time! 😁 This week, Maple Class began our supervised toothbrushing programme as part of the Lincolnshire Oral Health Improvement Campaign. We were delighted to welcome Christobel, who spoke with the children about the importance of looking after their teeth and keeping their smiles healthy. She also helped us set up our new toothbrushing station, ready for daily use in class! The children were really engaged and enjoyed learning about how good oral health helps to keep our teeth strong and healthy. We're looking forward to making toothbrushing part of our daily routine and developing healthy habits that will last a lifetime. As our PGL trip comes to a close, what a week it has been! The children have been an absolute credit to themselves, their families and our school. They have truly lived our school values, showing wonderful determination and resilience, challenging themselves, stepping outside their comfort zones and having a go at new experiences. It has been a real privilege to watch them grow in confidence throughout the week. They have shown such care and kindness towards one another, and it has been wonderful to see friendships flourish and new friendships develop with Coningsby St Michael's C of E Primary School children. We are so proud of each and every one of them and all they have achieved. We return home with wonderful memories, new friendships and a real sense of achievement. What a special experience!
