    Homework 30.4.18

    This week for English homework the children have been asked to write interesting sentences using there spelling words and a variety of the following:

    • fronted adverbials- where the sentence begins with a subordinate clause eg: Yesterday, I...

    • relative clauses – where more detail is added eg: John, who lives in Kent, is...

    • expanded noun phrases- where at least two adjectives are used to describe the noun

    • parenthesis- where brackets, dashes or commas are used to add additional information

    • modal verbs- these show possibility or certainty eg: shall, may, can, ought, will, should, must...

    In addition to this the children still need to read daily and Yr5 have been set a Sumdog challenge which must be completed by Friday.
