RE Day- Buddhism

Today, we have been learning about Buddhism and how Buddhism started. 

There was once a Prince, who at the age of 29, left his palace and went out into the world. He saw the pain and suffering of others and decided to live without luxury for 42 days. During this time he sat under a tree and meditated until his questions were answered.

In class today, Pine have learned about the original of Buddhism. We have taken part in 2 meditation sessions and learned how Buddist Monks create sand mandalas from rocks around where they live in the Himalayas. 

We then designed our own mandala patterns and our own Gratitude tree in our garden to say things that we are thankful for.
