In science we are looking at materials and their properties. Today I want you to conduct an experiment! Let’s see what materials are waterproof and which ones are not. See if you can find a selection of objects from around your home, made from different materials and put a few drops of water on them. See what happens. Does the water absorb into it or role off it? Which means its water proof?

Make a list of y=the objects you picked, write what they are made from and if they are water proof or not.

    For example:

Paper plate    -   made from Paper   -    Absorbed water         -       Is not water proof.

Mug               -    Made from pottery   - Did not absorb water   -  Is water proof.
