Rock Sculptures

We've been channeling Andy Goldsworthy today by creating our own rock sculptures! We got to experiment and then decided on our final design!

Rock Investigating!

We've been sorting rocks today based on their features. We tested their permeability, how hard or soft they were and looked at their interesting features through iPad magnifiers! 

Trip to Aggregate Sand and Gravel Pits Quarry

We began our Tremors Topic this week with a trip to the local Quarry. Unfortunately, they were not extracting any minerals from the ground, but we could see how they had stripped off the topsoil and the archeologists had been in to check for artefacts! We even found a fossil of our own! We then got to see lots of different types of rocks, including some of the mammoth bones and teeth the workers had discovered over the years!

Holiday Homework!

Super efforts in our Tremors Holiday Homework! We have been blown away by the amazing models, writing and artwork created over the holidays.
