    Earthquake proof buildings

Today we were set a task to build an earthquake proof building. We looked at some designs of buildings in America and Japan for ideas and then tried our own using art straws. We had a design brief and then we had to test our ideas with a tray of jelly! This imitated an earthquake and our building had to last 10 seconds of shaking!

    Seismographs

We built our own seismographs today as part of our innovate. We had instructions to follow and then had to shake the table to imitate a real earthquake!

    Shelter Building

We've been preparing shelters for the people of Tattershall in case of an earthquake in the local area due to the fault line! We had 20 minutes to build our shelter as a team and then it had to withstand an earthquake shake!

    Fault Line in Tattershall!

We had a bit of a strange morning in Sycamore Class! We couldn't enter the classroom until it was made safe! A fault line had appeared across the classroom! We have been journalists and Earthquake Specialists today to ensure the safety of the Tattershall residents in this dangerous time!
