Trip to Victorian Christmas Workshop

Oak Class had a fantastic trip to the Cottage Museum at Woodhall Spa to take part in a Victorian Christmas workshop.  We learnt about how a family would celebrate in the Victorian times, made a decoration and got to try out Victorian toys.  Did you know the Victorians did not wrap their presents up?

Oak Class have been learning about a number of festivals and celebrations from different countries and different religions.  We have found that 'light' is a key part of celebrating and spent a lesson discussing the affect of 'light' on how we feel as well as how to bring 'light' into someone's life.

We created a 'festival' atmosphere in the classroom by lighting candles when doing our work.

Look at the fantastic homework Oak pupils did about Bonfire Night over the half term.

Well done to all of you!

We made chalk firework art in class and made some beautiful bonfire scenes.
