Week 7

Maths

You are going to complete your unit on position and direction and see what you have learnt using the end of unit checks. Please don't feel any pressure to write all of your answers down during this unit. Just make sure you discuss your ideas and use all of the language correctly.

Practice book page 66 - 68

Lesson 4

Follow and discuss the activities on the PowerPoint. Draw your own pirate map and see if you can navigate your way to different destinations on your map. You could make up questions to ask family member such as 'how would you get to the palm tree?' and check if their directions are correct.

Lesson 5

Can you help Incy Wincy Spider find her web? Follow the PowerPoint to get you started and then use the activity sheet as a guide to help you find lots of different ways to get her back to her web.

Lesson 6

Humpty keeps falling off the wall in different directions! Follow the PowerPoint to discuss clockwise and anti-clockwise and then see if you can position him correctly using the activity sheet.

Literacy

Grammar:

Please write 2 of the spellings each day into 2 separate sentences so that by the end of the week you have 10 sentences containing each of your 10 spellings. (Spellings can be found on the 'Spelling' sub page under 'Week 7').

Do not forget that these sentences need capital letters, full stops and finger spaces. Get the children chanting it at home like they do at school! Also remind the children to use 'phoneme fingers' in order to sound out and spell their words.

Extended writing:

You will be completing activities using your favourite storybook this week. This will include a book review, a storyboard and an alternative ending so get creative!
