Ginger Bread Men
Makes 30 biscuits.
750g (24oz) Plain Flour.
10ml (2 teaspoons) bicarbonate of soda.
20ml (4 teaspoons) ground ginger.
250g (8oz) chopped butter.
375g (12oz) soft light brown sugar.
120ml (8 tablespoons) golden syrup.
2 eggs, beaten.
Dried fruit to decorate.
All children must wash their hands.
Mix and sift the flour, bicarbonate of soda and ginger into a large bowl. Rub in the butter until mixture looks like breadcrumbs. In a separate bowl mix together the golden syrup and the eggs. Stir this into the flour mixture. Mix to a firm dough.

Show the children how to roll the dough out and use the cutter.
Allow the children to decorate their gingerbread men with the dried fruit.
Place their gingerbread on a piece of named parchment.
Pre heat the oven at 180C
Bake in the oven for ten minutes. Let them cool and then they can take them home.
