Project

This week is our INNOVATE week where we use all the skills we have previously used to complete a challenge.

Here is the challenge:

You work for the Lake District National Park and have been asked to create an information pack for visitors to the area. You will need to use Ordnance Survey maps and online research to gather useful information for visitors, including details about significant geographical features. Let’s get started!

Teacher note
Before the children start the Innovate stage, ensure that they have access to the Ordnance Survey Explorer OL6 map. Alternatively, children can use printouts of Lake District maps from the online resource, Digimap for Schools. At the beginning of the Innovate stage, share the provocation with the children. Discuss their initial ideas and recap how to interpret Ordnance Survey maps. Share the Innovate journal and talk through the steps needed to complete the Innovate challenge.
