Viking and Saxon Houses!

Our home learning task has been fantastic this term! We have had such inventive and wonderful houses come into the classroom to make our Viking and Saxon village!

Anglo Saxon Runes

We learnt about the Anglo Saxon alphabet and made our own Saxon rune stones. They used to use these to send messages and also tell the future!

Anglo Saxon Weapons!

We used the app Tellagami to create mini videos explaining what we knew about Anglo Saxon Weapons. We had to use skills such as copying and pasting on an iPad, recording our voices to a given time limit and using a search engine to search safely.

Science - pushes and pulls

Today we investigated the force of Friction. We tested carpet, sandpaper, foam and wood to see how far the car travelled. The further the distance travelled, the less friction the material had.

Viking Raiders!

We became Viking pillagers during our PE lesson today! We had to guard and protect our treasure, whilst gathering more as well! We had to work as a team and think about our tactics on how we could get the most treasure!

Anglo Saxon Invasion!

Today we ordered the events of the Anglo Saxon period of history. We worked out how long ago the Saxons invaded our lands. We then used atlases and maps to discover the Seven Kingdoms of the Saxon time...some of which are still named British counties now!
