STARGAZERS

Journey through space, the final frontier...

Travel beyond the sun: the most magnificent star at the centre of our solar system!

Learn about the eight planets- Mercury, Venus, Earth, Mars, Jupiter, Saturn, Uranus and Neptune. Study the moon, a celestial body that orbits Earth and learn about its phases.

Use computer programming to direct a 'rover' around a lunar landscape and expand your scientific mind by investigating the force of gravity and what happens when there is none!

Make a model solar system and use data about the planets to revise place value.

What an adventure! I wonder what else lies in store?

Holiday Homework

Wow! What a fantastic array of space helmets and alien inspired headwear.

We all looked great at our fashion show. Well done for all of your hard work.

6th November  Science

In Science this week we have been learning about the Solar System and the relationship between the Sun, Moon and Earth. We have made models to help us understand how the Moon orbits the Earth, while the Earth is orbiting the Sun.

Below are some examples.

Week beginning 30.10.18- Engage Stage

Today in class we have used our place value knowledge to order the planets, using their distance in km from the Sun and also by their size, looking at their diameters.

We then used our inflatable Solar System model to check our answers and have learned a mnemonic to help us remember the order of the eight planets.
