Home learning
Welcome to Pine's Home Learning Page. We understand that the next few weeks and months will be a testing time for families.
We will be using this page to set tasks for the children at the start of each week for you to complete at home. Some of these will need to be followed in a specific order, while others can be chosen as stand-alone tasks. We will try our best to include a broad range of subjects, so we cater for all interests.
Every child will be sent home with an exercise book and Power Maths Practice book, for some tasks to be completed in, while others can be typed on computers or completed using alternative methods, such as the class blog. Please only use the Power Maths books to complete tasks set.
If you have any problems with homework, or need additional support please contact us through
PineClass@holytrinity.lincs.sch.uk
between 9-11 daily and we will endeavour to get back to you as soon as possible.
Please encourage your child to read and use TTRockstars daily.
We will also able to communicate with you via this method. If the School does not have an up to date email address for you, please ring or see the School Office.
We will be adding additional links to help you with specific English and Mathematical terminology and working examples of different calculation methods.
Please send images, videos or work completed by the children via email so we can keep up to date with all your learning experiences!
Hope to hear from you all soon!
Mrs Kaynes and Mrs Boole
See below for the links to Sumdog and TTRockstars. Sumdog can also be downloaded as an app and played on multiple devices. TTRockstars can only be used on an internet browser, we do not have access to the app with our subscription.
Sumdog will be updated with regular challenges and contests for the children to take part in.
TTRockstars have lots of different games and activities all linked to timestables.

Daily Routines
It is important to establish a Daily Routine to help to structure the day.
The children should try to complete at least one maths task, an English activity, reading and TTRockstar session, plus one other topic based activity from the weekly folder, daily.
Reading
It is so important to continue to read or be read to daily for every child.
Scholastic Learning Zone (all children have their own log on, the school code is C8QG) will be accessible between 9am and 3pm on School Days and children will be able to complete their Book Quizzes on there. If you are reading a home book, you may also be able to do a quiz for that book too! No harm in having a look, it could help your Lexile Score!
Oxford Reading Tree also have an excellent range of free eBooks when you create an account with them.
PSHE

They have created resources for you to access at home to support mental health and well-being, looking at topics such as feelings and emotions, staying safe, being responsible and more.

Think U Know
The Think U Know resources are available below to help you navigate any questions or concerns about online safety at home. There is a PowerPoint which explains a little about the resource and signposts you to other places you can access support if needed. There is also a guide to facilitating video calls between friends for primary age pupils and 3 activity packs. We may use some of these activities over the coming weeks on our topic sheets but please feel free to access them before you if feel they would be useful. As always, if you have any concerns about online safety, please do contact us and we will try to help in the most appropriate way.

Here are the links to the year 5 and year 6 Power Maths Textbooks, the old link no longer works I'm afraid. You may need to scroll to the bottom of the page and accept terms and conditions before it will allow access.
We are all currently working on Textbook B as we have reorganised the teaching order of some units to make them easier to teach, so your child may be asked to miss out sections of their Practice Books or work more quickly through certain pages.
