Home Learning Week 6
Thank you to everyone for sending in your fantastic work via email, Twitter and Dojo. It's wonderful to see all of your amazing work and just how well you are all doing. I loved seeing all your VE day pictures and your reactions to the Digestive System experiment.
Remember, you can always look back and complete activities from previous weeks, or adapt these to suit your current situation, I don't mind!
Keep up your fantastic work, and don't forget to drop me a message with any questions or queries. I'm happy to help!
English
This week, the children will be writing an Explanation Text about the Digestive System. It is important that the children have a good understanding of this from their Topic activities before they begin this English Task. Make sure that they have completed some of these tasks from last week’s subpage listed under Topic. Otherwise, the children will find it very hard to write in this style.
Make sure you read the Parent Teaching Notes first to support you when your child completes the activities.
Maths
This week, the main focus will be building vocabulary for the children when describing 2D shapes. They should be able to recognise and name 2D shapes up to 10 sides, and describe them in terms of how many sides they have and how many vertices (corners)
Over the course of this week, the children will be learning the names of specific types of triangles, using coordinates and their knowledge of 2D shape to draw and complete 2D shapes, as well as recognising lines of symmetry and completing symmetrical shapes.
For each task, there are a number of different activities listed. Please choose one of the activities to complete, do not feel that you have to complete them all!
RE
This week's RE tasks continue from the tasks set 2 weeks previously. Please make sure you have completed these before having a go at the tasks below.

Reading
This week, our Reading Task is linked to a song! Look at the lyrics and watch the YouTube clip before answering the questions. Remember, you can watch it more than once and use evidence from the text to answer your questions.
Below is a link to the Harry Potter at Home website, where different Harry Potter stars will read a chapter of Harry Potter and the Philosopher's Stone!
Chapter 1 is read by Daniel Radcliffe!
