05.02.19

Today in maths the children have been learning about capacity. We discussed the correct language to use for full, nearly full, half full, nearly empty and empty. After this, the children had to take it in turns and fill a cup half full of juice. The children did a fantastic job at this and had a great time.

In maths this week the children have been looking at 2D shapes. They have had to remember the names of the shapes and also their properties, for example how many sides and corners the shape has, if it has a curve and if the sides are all the same size.

The children have been actively looking at shapes in their environment by going on a shape hunt and recording how many of each shape they have found. The children have also had to cut objects out and stick them into groups of triangle, square, circle and rectangles.
