English
Please see below this week's spelling homework (to go out on the 2nd October), handwriting words and Billy Blunder activity.
This week's reading is linked to our RE topic - please see the Prophet Muhammad and the Revelation of the Quran.
Our new writing text is a non chronological report about the 1950s. This week we will be looking at note taking, features of a report and how to use the conjunction 'but' to compare two different eras. Please see the information below including the power point to support sentence writing. Your child could choose the subheadings they may want to write about and make notes using the information and photos below, then practice writing 'but' sentences.
History
Display the Coronation presentation (see below) and direct your child to describe what they think the images show, drawing their attention to the dates. Explain the significance of the pictures and the importance of the coronation. Encourage them to talk about the significance of the Queen and explain that the coronation was the start of her reign as monarch. Challenge your child to use the internet to search for digital content on the theme using the websites below. Model how to save images to a shared class folder. Ask them to choose one image to print and describe using full sentences.
