Sycamore's Home Learning Page

Welcome to Sycamore's Home Learning Section. If you are in a position where you have isolated yourselves at home, or in the event of the School's Closure, I will update this page with activities to complete with your child.

Every child will receive an exercise book, in the event that the School closes, and all work can be completed in that, or virtually and emailed to me at:

sycamoreclass@holytrinity.lincs.sch.uk

I will also be able to communicate with you via this method, as well as using the Scholar Pack email account. If the School does not have an up to date email address for you, please ring or see the School Office.

This page will be updated with weekly tasks under different tabs, and the front page will contain lots of other links and resources of things that you could be doing at home.

Please send images, videos, work completed by the children through on the Class Twitter page (@sycamore_holy,) via email or on Class Dojo so I can keep up to date with all your fantastic learning!

If you do not have a Class Dojo account, please send an email to the above address, and I will send you the code directly.

Hope to see you all soon!

Maths Activities

See below for the links to Sumdog and TTRockstars. Sumdog can also be downloaded as an app and played on multiple devices. TTRockstars can only be used on an internet browser, we do not have access to the app with our subscription.

Sumdog will be updated with regular challenges and contests for the children to take part in.

TTRockstars have lots of different games and activities all linked to timestables, and I have matched these to the children's abilities.

Get Active!

Daily Routines

If we are in this for the long haul, it is important to establish a Daily Routine to help to structure the day.

The information below was taken from a source on Twitter, just as a guide for a Daily Routine to start to form a structure to your children's (and your!) days!

I am Warrior activities!

Here are some different ideas for some more creative and topic based activities, linked to our theme of the Ancient Romans.

Twinkl Resources

You can access the Twinkl website free of charge by following this link and entering the following code. Setting this up is really easy to do - go to www.twinkl.co.uk/offer or follow the link below and enter the code UKTWINKLHELPS

This website gives you unlimited access to lots of resources, reading, activity booklets and more. Just use the search bar to find Year 3/4 related topics. Please note, some of these resources require printing but you could easily use a notebook and pen or your child's exercise book to copy down answers if you don’t have access to a printer.

Reading

It is so important to continue to read or be read to daily for every child.

The children will be sent home with extra reading books if the school closes, however, they may finish them rather quickly!

Scholastic Learning Zone (all children have their own log on, the school code is C8QG) will be accessible between 9am and 3pm on School Days and children will be able to complete their Book Quizzes on there. If you are reading a home book, you may also be able to do a quizz for that book too! No harm in having a look, it could help your Lexile Score!

Oxford Reading Tree also have an excellent range of free eBooks when you create an account with them. There are Project Code X ones for Mrs Burton's group!
